Larry Gray “November 5, 1981” 1981 Pastel and dry pigment on paper, framed 42 ½ x 42 ½ inches
$5,999
The intimation of a horizon-line in this otherwise quite abstract/atmospheric drawing offers the firm reference point that leads me to conclude that this is a landscape drawing. Larry Gray has lived and shown his art on both coasts of the US. He has remained true to this sort of aesthetic Romanticism. His exquisite touch with dry pigment rubbed into the paper rescues the work from cliché and establishes his identity to be compared with early John Constable and late JMW Turner.
